Wednesday 18th November’s TIBS Newsbytes: Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus, Mario Balotelli could move to Yorkshire and Arsenal keen on Dominik Szoboszlai!

Today’s gossip flying around the internet includes talk about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, what’s next for Jerome Boateng and Chelsea’s continued interest in England youngster Declan Rice.

1) There is continued talk relating to CR7’s future – there are whispers that Manchester United have made a formal bid but the club are currently denying that. Reports in Italy believe that Juventus would be open to a swap deal that would see them replace their superstar with Paris St-Germain and Brazil forward Neymar.

2) Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all interested in signing Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng on a free transfer after it was announced that the Champions League winners are not planning on offering him a new contract.

3) Chelsea are planning to make another bid for West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice when the January transfer window opens but to be able to fund this the Blues must sell two senior players.

4) Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen’s life in Italy has not got off to a great start and he has commented that his current situation “is not what I dreamt of”. It will be interesting to see if he might return to England especially as he will want to get as much game time as possible before next summer’s European Championships.

5) One man under pressure in the Premier League is West Brom boss Slaven Bilic after his team’s poor start to the season – the club are still winless in the league this season. Interestingly one of the names being linked is Charlton’s Lee Bowyer.

6) Arsenal are still chasing RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai – the 20-year-old scored a dramatic winner against for Hungary against Iceland to send his nation to the Euro 2020. Originally it was understood that he was going to sign for RB Leipzig but his agent has denied this!

7) It is not just small clubs that are struggling financially at the moment – Real Madrid are set to ask their players to take a further wage cut due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

8) After an excellent start to the season Tottenham Hotspur have started contract talks with South Korea star Son Heung-min with the 28-year-old likely to be offered a contract worth £200,000-a-week and will run until 2026.

9) Controversial striker Mario Balotelli has held talks with Championship strugglers Barnsley about moving to the Yorkshire club on a free transfer. The former Manchester City and Liverpool player is available after having his contract with Brescia terminated due missing training sessions.

10) Manchester City are still interested in signing Lionel Messi – his contract is due to expire at the end of the season but City might make a reduced cash move for the Argentine in the next window to beat any other suitors.
