TIBS Newsbytes W/C 23rd November: Nicolas Pepe could be on the move, Real Madrid keen on Kylian Mbappe and Chelsea planning to start spending again!

The main news this week was the sad passing of Diego Maradona but as we know life goes on and there has but some interesting gossip in the footballing world.

The backroom staff at Gimnasia y Esgrima, where Maradona was managing when he died have all resigned from their positions. Also, his friend and lawyer Angelo Pisani said it would have been better had his friend been in Naples, close to Napoli fans, instead of being in Argentina when he died.

1) Arsenal could sell winger Nicolas Pepe if there receive a suitable offer for the 25-year-old. The Ivory Coast star was signed for £72 million from Lille last year after scoring 35 times in 74 Ligue 1 appearances.

2) Spanish giants Real Madrid are looking to sign Paris St-Germain’s French forward Kylian Mbappe in 2021 and then the plan for the following season is to make a move for Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

But Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has said that he believes that Haaland will stay with the club “for a long time”. The young star is contracted to the German side until 2024, but it has to be noted that he has a clause in his contract that he can be bought for 75m euros (£67m) in 2022.

3) Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez is growing frustrated at Inter Milan and has requested agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new club.

Three possible options for the 23-year-old are Manchester City and Spanish duo Barcelona and Real Madrid.

4) Premier League side Chelsea are looking for more players despite spending big in the summer and there could make a move for Atletico Madrid’s Uruguay centre-back Jose Gimenez.

5) Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been told he can leave Inter Milan in January as the Italian club’s CEO Beppe Marotta has said they do not want to keep anyone who does not want to play for the club.

Two clubs who could offer Eriksen an escape are Manchester United and German side Borussia Dortmund with both clubs having been previously linked.

6) With January’s transfer window approaching France striker Olivier Giroud has been linked with a move away from Chelsea. He has admitted his lack of playing time is “worrying” especially with the upcoming European Championships.

7) Tottenham’s Harry Kane is someone that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to bring to the club and mentioned it when he was negotiating his new contract.

8) Former Manchester City, Manchester United and West Ham striker Carlos Tevez’ third stint with Boca Juniors is about to come to an end and he is looking to move into politics. 

9) Bayern Munich have decided not to offer German Jerome Boateng a new contract. This will mean that the defender will be available on a free transfer next summer.

10) Frank Lampard has been really impressed with Thiago Silva since he signed on a free transfer for Chelsea. The London club are already in talks with the Brazilian about extending his contract until 2022.
