Andre Villas-Boas needs to be given more time to turn Spurs around because it’s not panic stations yet.

I’m reading he is one of the favourites to be sacked and that the club are looking at possible replacements.
But you’ve got to give the guy time to bed in his own players.
And after an entertaining 2-2 draw with Manchester United surely he deserve to be supported by his club.
AVB lost his best player, Gareth Bale, in the summer and has brought in, what is it, eight players?
They have spent a lot of money on new players and you’ve got to allow them time to settle into Premier League football.
Yes, it was a shambles getting beat for six at Manchester City but it’s not the first time that they have thumped a side at home.
Manchester United conceded four goals at the Etihad and Norwich got done by seven!
So that defeat was not like it was a one-off – City are an incredibly football side at home.
And one thing you can’t do is go there and concede a goal after 14 seconds which Spurs did.
I would put it down as a bit of a freak result and I wouldn’t put too much pressure on AVB.
Since that heavy defeat Spurs have maintained their 100 per cent record in Europe by beating Tromso away in the Europa League.
And now they’ve drawn at home to Manchester United after twice taking the lead.
Having said that I still don’t think AVB has quite worked out what his best attacking formation is.
Yes, apart from the City result, they have performed pretty solidly defensively this season.
But I don’t think he’s worked out his best forward combination as they have been struggling to score goals.
Their goal record is poor and it’s not like they are making a lot of chances for their new striker Roberto Soldado.
His goal record has come in for some criticism but I feel a bit sorry for him because it’s not as if he is squandering loads of chances.
Spurs need to change their build-up play to try and accommodate and suit Soldado’s style.
He looked lively against United and should have stuck one goal away after one brilliant move but the end product was missing again.
Let’s not forget a few weeks ago people were saying the club had done brilliantly with their new signings.
It was being said that they had got in some good players and had a much stronger squad after losing Bale.
All of a sudden, after one particularly poor result against City, the knives are out for the manager.
A few weeks ago the chairman was being told he had done brilliantly in the transfer market and Tottenham hadn’t suffered losing Bale.
But you have to be careful not to over-react and I certainly don’t think it time to push the panic button at this point.
