TIBS NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Wales manager Ryan Giggs backs David Brooks to flourish at relegated Bournemouth if he doesn’t leave

Twitter/@Cymru

Wales manager Ryan Giggs isn’t unfazed by David Brooks’ future and believes the midfielder will make the right decision as to whether or not leave Bournemouth this window.

Speculation has surrounded the 23-year-old following the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship at the end of last season.

Brooks has seen the likes of Nathan Ake, Aaron Ramsdale, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser all leave the Vitality Stadium following Bournemouth’s drop and returned to different Premier League clubs.

The rising Wales star has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Leicester City but Giggs is main concern is for Brooks to be playing regularly this season ahead of the delayed Euro 2020 campaign next summer.

‘You want your players to be playing regularly and at the highest level,’ he told Tibs News during a TalkTalk media opportunity.

‘I’ve got players who played all last season in the Championship and are getting games.

‘I’d rather they play regularly than going to a higher club and not playing. But that’s always a balance.

‘Brooksy can play at the highest level without a shadow of a doubt, he’s at a good club and it’s up to him and Bournemouth what happens in the future.’

TalkTalk has extended its partnership with Salford City FC to include the Salford City Lionesses. The sponsorship is the latest example of TalkTalk’s commitment to the local community and reflects the connectivity provider’s efforts to champion inclusivity and diversity.
