Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Bayern Munich: Kingsley Coman’s header sees Germans win Champions League final

Twitter/@ChampionsLeague

Bayern Munich’s spectacular season ended in fairytale fashion on Sunday by winning the Champions League.

The German giants overcame Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the final, held in Lisbon.

Kinglsey Coman was the matchwinner – scoring the only goal of the game in the second half with a header at the back post.

The Frenchman, who started his career at PSG, found himself unmarked from a Joshua Kimmich delivery to steer his effort past Keylor Navas on 59 minutes.

It is the sixth European Cup victory in the illustrious history of Bayern – putting them level with Liverpool. Only Real Madrid (13) and AC Milan (seven) have won the competition more in its history.

Coman’s strike punished PSG’s wastefulness in the first half as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe both failed to beat Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer from close range while Angel di Maria and Ander Herrera also narrowly missed the target.

PSG substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting missed two late opportunities to level for the French side, who are still waiting to win their first Champions League title after billions of pounds of investment from the Qatar royal family.
