Manchester United ‘have £91.3m bid for Jadon Sancho rejected by Borussia Dortmund’

Manchester United’s abject transfer window so far has continued with a reported failed bid for Jadon Sancho.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has been the Red Devils’ No 1 target for this entire summer window but so far they are yet to match the German’s £108million valuation for him.

And on Tuesday evening, United were rebuffed after making an offer worth up to £91.3m for the 20-year-old.

According to Sky Germany, the offer was for an initial £73m, rising to up to £91.3m – which is way below the German’s asking price.

Dortmund had set United an August 10 deadline for any Sancho deal to be completed but United are still persisting with the transfer window closing on Monday.

However, it appears that attempts are futile according to Dortmund captain Marco Reus who says Sancho will remain at the club for another year.

‘For us players that was great news.

‘We all were happy that he will be with us for one more year because he delivers assists and goals, so we get points.

‘If he gets as big as (Lionel) Messi or Ronaldo, we will see. He needs time, experience and it will be important how he manages the times when things don’t go so well. But he has the confidence and the quality.’

So far, United have only signed midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax in a £40m deal earlier this month.
