Gareth Southgate’s side, who were among the top seeds, have been paired in Group I and will face Hungary, Albania, Andorra and San Marino as well as the Poles in Group I.
Wales, who were in pot two, have been grouped with Belgium – who they beat 3-1 in their Euro 2016 quarter-final – in Group E. Completing their group are Czech Republic, Belarus and Estonia.
As pot three teams; Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland have tricky routes to reach Qatar in November/December 2022.
Northern Ireland have four-time winners Italy in Group C as well as Switzeland, Bulgaria and Lithuania.
In Group F, Scotland will face Denmark, Austria, Israel, Faroe Islands and Moldova.
And Republic of Ireland face the challenge of Cristiano Roanldo’s Portugal in Group A as well as Serbia, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
