Diego Maradona dies of heart attack aged 60 just two weeks after Argentina legend left hospital following brain surgery

Football

Argentina legend Diego Maradona has died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Ambulances were called to his house where he was recovering from previous health issues.

Earlier this month he underwent surgery for a subdural hermatoma.

The ex-Napoli star was 60 years-old and had a colourful career that saw him play for Boca Juniors, Barcelona and Sevilla.

He was most famous for his time with the Italian side where he led them to their two Serie A titles where he was still treated like God.

He also won the World Cup in 1986, where he controversially scored his ‘Hand of God’ goal during the quarter-final victory over England. In the same game he also scored what is possibly the greatest World Cup goal of all-time.

It was well documented that he had issues off the field during his career but there is no doubt he was one of the greatest ever players to play the game.
