We’re on to the penultimate matchweek of the Six Nations with three teams in France, England and Ireland still harbouring title hopes. TIBS News previews the action.

Wales entertain Grand Slam hopefuls France

Wales hope to crush France’s Grand Slam chances at the Principality Stadium on Friday, kick-off 8pm.

Fabien Galthie’s side have been rampant so far in this year’s tournament and remain the only side unbeaten.

If France win, they will face England on March 19 in what could be a huge clash for the title.

Any hope of Wales retaining their title was practically shattered when they lost 23-19 to England in the last round of fixtures.

Wayne Pivac has reacted to this defeat by making four changes. Cardiff duo Seb Davies and Josh Navidi come in the starting XV, whilst centre Jonathan Davies and Gareth Thomas also start.

France only make the one change as winger Gabien Villiere comes in for Damain Penaud.

The Principality won’t be to its usual full capacity due to the controversial Friday evening time which has previously angered fans.

France will be confident that they can get another win and go one step further to Six Nations glory.

England face Ireland in title eliminator

Twickenham will take centre stage on Saturday as England face Ireland in a must win game for both nations, KO 4.45pm.

Jonny Sexton returns as he will look to captain his side to a victory.

Meanwhile, Eddie Jones has opted to start Sam Simmonds at number eight, who comes in for Alex Dombart.

Joe Marchant will pair Henry Slade in midfield in what is sure to be a gruelling and tense affair.

Italy look to end winless run against Scotland

Scotland travel to Italy on Saturday, 14.15pm KO, in the weekends dead rubber.

Gregor Townsend has made five changes to the side that was defeated heavily by France.

Centre Sam Johnson replaces Sione Tuipulota whilst winger Kyle Steyn comes in for the banned Duhan van der Merwe.

George Turner, Hamish Watson and Matt Fagerson all start.
