The 2021 Pakistan Super League is set to resume on June 1. The news comes following the postponement of the tournament, which originally began on February 20, on March 4 due to a spike in coronavirus cases.

A June restart was initially suggested in March, subject to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) inquiry into how the Covid-19 protocols were breached.

A statement from the board read: ‘A mandatory seven-day quarantine period for all participants will commence from 22 May in one hotel and following three days of training sessions, HBL PSL 6 matches will resume on 1 June with the final scheduled for 20 June.’

All fixtures will now take place in Karachi, as previously they had been scheduled to move to Lahore for the close of the tournament.

England wicket-keeper Tom Banton was one of the many players to test positive in March, and will be hoping to inspire a late charge from Quetta Gladiators come June.
