Rajasthan Royals successfully chased the highest runs total in IPL history as they beat Kings XI Punjab by four wickets in a thrilling Dream11 game in Sharjah on Sunday.

Kings XI posted an impressive total of 223-2 thanks to a brilliant century from Mayank Agarwal (106), who shared a 183-run partnership with team-mate KL Rahul with a number of boundaries.

Despite losing the creative Jos Buttler early, the Royals pushed on with the in-form Sanju Samson (85) and captain Steve Smith (50) both scoring quickly and putting the team within touching distance.

When Smith and Samson were caught in the eighth and 16th over respectively, the game seemed to be just out of reach with the Royals needing 51 runs off 18 balls.

However, Rahul Tewatia took centre stage and became an instant hero hitting five huge sixes off of six balls in the 17th over, leaving the men in blue and pink needing 21 runs off 11 balls.

The onslaught continued as Jofra Archer smashed consecutive sixes in an explosive cameo leaving the Royals needing two off seven balls.

Tewatia was finally caught in the deep by Agarwal after scoring 53 runs, but the damage had been done as the Royals claimed their second victory in as many games.
