Star players Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will participate at next month’s ATP Cup, where 12 countries will take part because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The competition is only in its second year and will take place between 1-5 February in Melbourne with 12 nations competing instead of 24 with the prize money set at $7,500,000.

World number one Djokovic will be leading reigning champions Serbia alongside Dušan Lajović, Filip Krajinović and Nikola Ćaćić.

While second seeds Spain will be led by Nadal and teammates Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreño Busta and Marcel Granollers.

Great Britain, who were unlucky not to reach the semi-finals, miss out this year after failing to even qualify.

Qualification is based on each country’s top-ranked ATP singles player and Australia as hosts receive a wildcard.

The nations who have qualified and their top players are:

Serbia – Novak Djokovic
Spain – Rafael Nadal
Austria – Dominic Thiem
Russia – Daniil Medvedev
Greece – Stefanos Tsitsipas
Germany – Alexander Zverev
Argentina – Diego Schwartzman
Italy – Matteo Berrettini
Japan – Kei Nishikori
France – Gael Monfils
Canada – Denis Shapovalov
Australia – Alex de Minaur

With the draw for the four groups taking place on 20 January 2021.

The competition has been moved to Melbourne having previously been played in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney to allow payers to stay in a Covid-safe bubble before this years’ Australian Open.
