The first leg of round of 16 Europa League ties were played this week, which featured three more English sides in European competition as well as newly-crowned Scottish champions Rangers.

Rangers held
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers maintained their unbeaten record in the Europa League with a 1-1 draw away to Czech club Slavia Prague.
Nicolae Stanciu put Slavia ahead after just seven minutes. Only for Swedish defender Filip Helander to net the all important away goal for Gerrard’s team.
Elsewhere, there was no upset this time for Swiss Champions BSC Young Boys. They fell to a humbling 3-0 defeat at the hands of Ajax.
Meanwhile, second half strikes from Davy Klassen, Dusan Tadic and Brian Brobbey sealed the win as the Dutch side notched up a strong lead ahead of the second leg.
Spanish clubs enjoy a win
Villarreal overcame Dynamo Kyiv, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from defensive duo Pau Torres and Raul Albiol.
The victory makes it eight games unbeaten in the Europa League for the Spaniards.
While, fellow Spanish side Granada also won, beating the ten men of Molde FK 2-0.
Jorge Molina opened the scoring. Former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado added to it in the second-half just four minutes after Martin Ellingsen was dismissed.
Finally, Roma thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 to take a huge stride towards the quarter finals.
Goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini, Stephan El Shaarawy and Gianluca Mancini helped the Italians to an easy victory.
