Manchester United take on Villarreal on Wednesday in the 2021 Europa League final, looking to win the competition for the second time in the last four years.
They come into the tie off the back of a comfortable 2-1 win against Wolves to confirm a second place finish in the Premier League.
United fielded a much weaker side at the weekend, meaning key players like Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were rested for this week’s final.
Will Harry Maguire start?
It remains to be seen whether or not Harry Maguire will be fit enough to take part, with his absence putting a huge dent in the Red Devils’ hopes of winning the tournament.
How did Manchester United and Villareal reach the final?
In getting to the final, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have had to beat Real Sociedad, AC Milan, Granada and Roma.
They have looked comfortable throughout and will be full of confidence going into Wednesday’s tie.
For Villarreal, they have the Europa League mastermind Unai Emery at the helm who will be looking to win the tournament for a fourth time.
The Spaniard was victorious on three different occasions with Sevilla, while also losing one final when at Arsenal.
His side could only manage a seventh place finish in La Liga, so will be looking to win this competition to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Villarreal are yet to lose a game in their current Europa League campaign, having only conceded eight times across the 14 matches played.
On their way to the final, they made it out of their group consisting of Sivasspor, Qarabag and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
They then beat Red Bull Salzberg, Dynamo Kyiv, Dinamo Zagreb and Arsenal in the knockout stages.
The two sides will meet on Wednesday night at the Gdansk Stadium in Poland, with just 90 minutes separating the clubs from another piece of European silverware.
