X/@IndySport

Steve Cooper has been sacked as Leicester City manager.

The Foxes are 16th place in the Premier League and have accumulated a mere 10 points after 12 outings.

The Welshman came in the summer to replace the departing Enzo Maresca who got the Midlands club back into England’s top division as Championship champions.

A defeat against the same head coach, who now manages Chelsea, proved Cooper’s last as Leicester manager, in a 2-1 home defeat.

Assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach and analyst Steve Rands have also left the club with Cooper.

In a short statement released by the club they expressed their thanks to the departing managing team.

Leicester also explained that: ‘Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes.

‘The club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible.’

Who are Steve Cooper’s successors?

There are a handful of perfect candidates to replace the departing manager which included two Englishman.

Graham Potter has been jobless since being axed as Chelsea manager whilst former England Head Coach Gareth Southgate could be a great fit.
