A memorable Premier League season drew to a close last weekend, with the title race, top four and the relegation battle all being decided on the final day.
Manchester City crowned Premier League champions again
Manchester City won the league in dramatic fashion, scoring three goals in six minutes to come from behind and beat Aston Villa 3-2.
Strikes from Matty Cash and Phillipe Coutinho put the visitors ahead, but an Ilkay Gundogan brace and a goal from Rodri saw City complete a superb comeback to be crowned champions.
Liverpool did all they could to try and claim a second Premier League title, beating Wolves 3-1, but it wasn’t enough to overtake City.
The Reds went behind to Pedro Neto’s early goal, but Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson all scored to ensure the home side ended their domestic campaign with a win.
Tottenham pip Arsenal to Champions League football
As expected, Tottenham claimed the final Champions League spot with a resounding 5-0 win against bottom of the league Norwich City.
Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min Son got a brace each, with Harry Kane also netting for the north London club.
Arsenal did their job and beat Everton 5-1, but it wasn’t enough for the Gunners who lost out on the top four to their local rivals.
Goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, Cedric Soares, Gabriel and Martin Odegaard were more than enough for the home side, despite Donny van de Beek scoring his first for Everton.
Fellow London club, Chelsea, claimed third place with a comfortable 2-1 in against Watford.
Kai Havertz and Ross Barkley both scored, with Dan Gosling bagging for the Hornets as they returned back to the Championship.
Burnley are relegated at Leeds’ expense
Burnley became the third and final side to be relegated after their 2-1 home defeat by Newcastle.
A Callum Wilson double proved too much for the Clarets, despite Maxwell Cornet giving them some hope with his second half goal.
There were jubilant scenes in the Leeds away end as they confirmed their survival with a 2-1 win over Brentford.
Raphinha and Jack Harrison were the heroes for Jesse Marsch’s side, while Sergi Canos scored and then got sent off for the Bees.
Manchester United lose but secure Europa League football
Elsewhere, Manchester United took the final Europa League spot despite losing 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
Wilfred Zaha scored the only goal of the game, but the Red Devils still claimed sixth place after West Ham lost 3-1 to Brighton.
The Hammers initially went ahead through Michail Antonio, but were outdone through goals from Joel Veltman, Pascall Gross and Danny Welbeck.
Finally, Leicester finished their campaign with a solid 4-1 win against Southampton.
Strikes from James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and a double from Ayoze Perez saw the Foxes take all three points, while James Ward-Prowse scored from the penalty spot for the Saints.
