Manchester City’s winning record ends on the south coast
Manchester City’s 12-game winning run came to an end at the hands of Southampton, with the two sides drawing 1-1 at St Mary’s Stadium.
Kyle Walker-Peters opened the scoring before Aymeric Laporte equalised for the first-placed side.
Second-placed Liverpool capitalised on their title rivals dropping points, beating Crystal Palace 3-1 away from home.
Goals from Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Fabinho were enough for the Reds, despite Odsonne Edouard netting for the hosts.
London is blue as Chelsea beat Tottenham
Chelsea made it three wins from three this month against Tottenham, beating their London rivals 2-0.
Second-half strikes from Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva saw the Blues comfortably see off their opponents, although they still sit 10 points away from top spot.
Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s hero
A late winner for Manchester United against West Ham saw them move back into the top four, with Marcus Rashford netting in the 93rd minute.
Wolves beat Brentford 2-1 to move within four points of a Champions League spot, highlighting their impressive season so far.
Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves netted for Bruno Lage’s side, with Ivan Toney scoring for the Bees.
Norwich out of the relegation zone after win at Watford
Elsewhere, there were some huge results in the battle for survival.
Norwich thrashed Watford 3-0 away from home to move out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.
A Josh Sargent double was followed by an own goal from Juraj Kucka and an Emmanuel Dennis red card as a miserable evening for the Hornets resulted in manager Claudio Ranieri being sacked.
Newcastle were also victorious, beating Leeds 1-0 thanks to a clever Jonjo Shelvey free-kick.
The win lifted them off the bottom of the table and just four points away from safety.
Despite also picking up an impressive point against Arsenal, Burnley now sit bottom of the league.
Their match ended 0-0, but the Clarets have a mammoth five games in hand on Norwich in 17th place.
Duncan Ferguson took charge of his first game as interim manager of Everton, losing 1-0 to Aston Villa.
Defeat saw them slip closer to the bottom three, while three point for Villa meant they moved just two points away from the top half.
Finally, Brighton yet again drew 1-1, coming from behind against Leicester City.
Patson Daka opened the scoring, but a late equaliser from Danny Welbeck saw the points shared in the Midlands.
