The Premier League table opened up slightly during the midweek fixtures, as victory for Liverpool saw them go three points clear at the top – while Manchester City yet again struggled.
In the biggest clash of the week, Liverpool came out 2-1 winners against Tottenham to leapfrog them into first place in the table.
