With fixtures starting to pile up, club games are coming thick and fast as Premier League teams move towards the notoriously busy winter period.
Manchester United face old foes Liverpool
The biggest match of the weekend sees Manchester United take on Jurgen Klopp’s unbeaten Liverpool side.
The two teams are in differing situations currently, with Liverpool flying high in second and United trying to push back up the league in sixth.
Table-toppers Chelsea host winless Norwich City
Table-toppers Chelsea will have the chance to keep their one point lead at the top when they play Norwich on Saturday.
Their opponents sit bottom of the league on just two points, failing to win a single league game this season.
Manchester City come into the weekend off the back of an emphatic 5-1 win over Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Pep Guardiola’s side will face fourth placed Brighton, with the Seagulls making a superb start to their fifth Premier League season.
A London derby at the London Stadium
There’s a London derby when West Ham play Tottenham on Sunday, with both clubs coming into the game after tough European matches on Thursday night.
Only a point separates the two sides in the league, and a win for either could see them rise into the top four.
Arsenal play Aston Villa on Friday night, looking to bounce back from their poor showing against Crystal Palace last Monday.
Villa were also disappointing last weekend, blowing a 2-0 lead against midlands rivals Wolves and losing the match 3-2.
Elsewhere, the best performers of the three newly promoted sides are Brentford, who are in action on Sunday against Leicester City.
The Foxes will be on a high after two big victories, first beating Manchester United last weekend and then coming from behind to beat Spartak Moscow in the Europa League.
Managerless Newcastle United travel to Crystal Palace
Newcastle have sacked Steve Bruce and as a result, interim manager Graeme Jones will take charge of their match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
His team are still yet to win so far this season and have picked up just 3 points from their opening eight games.
Similarly, Burnley are also yet to win and have the same record as Newcastle, only above them on goal difference.
The Clarets travel to Southampton this weekend, who themselves picked up their first league win of the season only last Saturday.
That came against Leeds, who sit just three points above the relegation zone in 17th place.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are set to be without Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford this weekend when they welcome Wolves.
Finally, Rafa Benitez’s Everton could move into the top four when they play Watford.
Their opponents are under new management, with Claudio Ranieri taking charge of his second game following their 5-0 loss to Liverpool last weekend.
