The Premier League is back following the second international break of the season, with the table starting to take shape as the eighth set of fixtures roll around.
Table-toppers Chelsea have a west London derby
Chelsea currently sit top of the league after a fantastic start to their campaign and can continue their fine form when they face Brentford on Saturday.
The Bees have found themselves having a debut season to remember, being just four points away from the Blues and sat in seventh place.
Unbeaten Liverpool are Claudio Ranieri’s first game as Watford manager
Despite only being in second place, Liverpool have made an unbeaten start to the season and are yet to lose a game in any competition, let alone the Premier League.
The Reds will look to keep this up against Watford, where new Hornets manager Claudio Ranieri will take charge of his first game for the club.
Four teams below Liverpool are all on 14 points, stretching from Manchester City in third down to Brighton in sixth.
City host Burnley, who are yet to win a league game this season and have picked up just three points so far.
The Clarets occupy one of the relegation spots and will need a big change in their performances to climb out of the bottom three.
Fourth placed Manchester United visit an out of form Leicester City side, whose poor start to the season sees them sat in 13th.
The Foxes do boast the competitions joint top scorer though, with Jamie Vardy level with Mohamed Salah on six goals.
West Ham travel to in-form Everton
After their good early season form, West Ham have dropped off slightly and find themselves in ninth place.
They take on Everton on Sunday, with the Toffees looking a completely new side under Rafa Benitez.
Surprisingly, Brighton find themselves in the top six following a stellar start to their fifth year in the Premier League.
A visit to bottom of the league Norwich awaits the Seagulls, who could rise as high as first with a win.
#CANS on Tyneside as Newcastle’s new era begins
Elsewhere, Newcastle fans will be hotly anticipating their first game under new ownership when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to what is expected to be a sold-out St James’ Park.
The Magpies are now the richest club in the world, but it remains to be seen whether the new owners will replace Steve Bruce now or let him manage his 1000th game at the weekend.
Aston Villa and Wolves go head-to-head at Villa Park in the league’s latest Midlands derby.
Both sides are in good form, with Dean Smith’s team recently picking up wins over Manchester United and Everton, while Bruno Lage’s Wolves have won three of their last four in the league.
Mikel Arteta was recently awarded the manager of the month award for September and will be hoping that his Arsenal side continue their rise up the table when they face Crystal Palace on Monday.
Their opponents will pose a strong threat though, with their young attacking players already causing problems for teams this season.
Finally, Leeds United can build on their first victory of the campaign when they face Southampton.
The Saints are still without a league win and could slip into the relegation zone if they fail to pick up any points on Saturday.
