There are some huge games in the Premier League this weekend, with Manchester United playing twice while battle for both for the top four and relegation continues. TIBS News previews the action.
Manchester United have an Old Trafford double header
United host the first game of the weekend, welcoming Southampton in the hopes of repeating another 9-0 win like they did in the same fixture last season.
They then return to Old Trafford on Tuesday, where they will play Brighton in the hopes of moving back into the top four.
Brighton also play against Watford on Saturday, with the Hornets looking to pick up their first win under new manager Roy Hodgson.
Table-toppers Manchester City travel to relegation-threatened Norwich looking to continue their superb season.
The Canaries have picked up form lately and actually beat City the last time they visited Carrow Road back in 2019.
Liverpool currently sit second and nine points behind Pep Guardiola’s side with a game in hand and will play Burnley this Sunday.
Their opponents will be confident after picking up a valuable point against Manchester United during the week.
Chelsea and Arsenal aren’t in action due to the former’s participation in the Club World Cup.
Elsewhere, Tottenham welcome Wolves with both sides looking to push towards the Champions League places.
They currently sit seventh and eighth respectively but come into the weekend off the back of disappointing midweek losses.
West Ham travel to the King Power Stadium
On Sunday, West Ham travel to Leicester City looking to keep the pace with their fellow European challengers.
The Hammers are currently fourth in the league and have had a brilliant season both domestically and in the Europa League, while the Foxes have been disappointing in both competitions.
Down at the bottom of the table…
In the relegation battle, Everton and Leeds go head-to-head looking to move away from the bottom three and ease concerns over dropping into the Championship.
Frank Lampard will be hoping to pick up his first league win in charge of the Toffees after losing last time out to Newcastle.
The Magpies will be trying to build on that win when they host Aston Villa.
New signings Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn are yet to feature for Eddie Howe’s side but could make their debuts this weekend.
Finally, Crystal Palace and Brentford play in the latest London derby looking to build on their current mid table positions.
