As the busy festive period continues, Premier League teams are in action yet again, with the January transfer window slowly closing in. TIBS News previews the action.
Chelsea sit top of the table having lost just one league game all season and will look to continue their superb run when they travel to West Ham.
The Hammers have been doing well themselves, sitting in fourth place, but haven’t won in their last three games.
Just one point behind the Blues are Manchester City, who sit second and face Watford in the late kick off on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last four games and are currently top of the form table, while the Hornets have impressed under new manager Claudio Ranieri.
Liverpool make up the rest of the top four, sitting third and just two points off of Chelsea, having been dominant all season.
The Reds have scored multiple times for 18 consecutive games and will be hoping to repeat this when they face Wolves.
There is the chance for Arsenal to finally move back into the top four when they face Everton on Monday night, providing West Ham drop points against Chelsea.
Both sides go into the game off the back of disappointing losses but will be ready to bounce back and find some momentum going into the winter period.
Fellow north London side Tottenham Hotspur have started well in the league under new manager Antonio Conte and will be hoping to continue their good domestic form when they play Norwich City.
The Canaries have also found themselves some form since their managerial change, yet to lose a game under new coach Dean Smith.
Manchester United have a new manager of their own, with Ralf Rangnick coming in to take charge of his first game when the Red Devils play Crystal Palace.
The German has previously been in charge of RB Leipzig and was a sporting director at Lokomotiv Moscow.
Elsewhere, Newcastle will still be looking for their first win of the season when they face Burnley, with both sides currently in the relegation zone.
The Magpies are the only side in the league still without a win, although they have drawn seven times already this campaign.
Leicester City have won just once in their last five games and are at risk of slipping into the bottom half of the table if they don’t get a result against Aston Villa.
Their opponents are enjoying life under new manager Steven Gerrard, though, winning two and losing one of the three games he has taken charge of so far.
Brighton could also slip into the bottom half if they lose against Southampton on Saturday, depending on results elsewhere.
Finally, Leeds host Brentford on Sunday, looking to build on their dramatic late win against Crystal Palace during the week.
The Bees have won just once in their last six games and have slowly slipped down the table after their strong start to the season.
