The Premier League returns this weekend following the final international break of the season, with table-toppers Manchester City in action against third-placed Leicester and European hopefuls Liverpool facing Arsenal.

City take on the Foxes in the highest profile match of the weekend, looking to extend their lead in first place to 17 points.

Despite Leicester’s injury worries, they can go above Manchester United and into second place if they cause an upset on Saturday.

Liverpool and Arsenal also clash, both looking to get back into the top six and qualify for European competition.

The Gunners will overtake their opponents with a win, but the Reds would leapfrog Tottenham and West Ham and go fifth if they came out on top.

Elsewhere, Manchester United can further cement their spot in the top four with a win over Brighton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side look set to qualify for the Champions League again and are expected to beat the Seagulls this weekend. On the other hand, Brighton are only six points clear of the relegation zone and need to start scoring more goals as the battle to avoid the drop continues.

Chelsea round off the top four, having yet to lose a game since Thomas Tuchel was appointed in January. They welcome 19th place West Brom, who look set for a return to the Championship having won just three games all season.

Down at the bottom of the Premier League

Fellow relegation fighters Sheffield United also look destined for the second tier, having picked up just 14 points from 29 matches. Paul Heckingbottom faces his former club Leeds United this weekend, who are flying in his absence following their promotion last year.

The two clubs looking to evade the last spot in the bottom three are Newcastle and Fulham, with only two points separating the teams in 17th and 18th.

Both have tough fixtures, with the former hosting Spurs and the latter travelling to Aston Villa. Their opponents have fared much better this campaign, with both mounting their own pushes for European football.

The same goes for West Ham, who travel to Wolves on Monday night looking to keep pressure on the top four.

Likewise, Everton will be looking for three points when they face Crystal Palace as they try to maintain their top six challenge. Just five points separate Chelsea in fourth and the Toffees in eighth, as we look set for an exciting finish to the battle for Europe.

Finally, bottom-half sides Southampton and Burnley go head to head looking to ease fears that they could get dragged into a late relegation battle.
