Premier League preview: Leicester and Manchester City can go top with wins before Manchester United travel to Fulham

A number of Premier League teams feature in midweek games this week, adding to the already hectic schedule that many clubs are facing.

Leicester City have the chance to go top of the league on Tuesday, however they will have to beat Chelsea if they are to overtake Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Foxes are on good form, recently beating an impressive Southampton side and their attacking talent will be vital again if they are to beat Frank Lampard’s team.

Chelsea need a win though in order to keep in touch with the top six and avoid getting dragged away from the European places.

City and United both play on Wednesday, against Aston Villa and Fulham, respectively.

Both sides are expected to win as the title race gets even closer with each passing week, with both Manchester clubs competing at the top of the league again for the first time in years.

Villa have played the fewest games in the league at just 15, but if they were to win all three of their games in hand then they could end up as high as second in the table.

They also play on Saturday against Newcastle – in the only league game of the weekend as everyone else features in the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Fulham need to start getting more wins if they are to make it out of the relegation zone.

Liverpool go head-to- head with Burnley on Thursday, needing to find their attacking spark again as they still look for their first league goals of the year.

Jurgen Klopp’s side also need three points to keep up with the likes of City and United, having not won in their last four Premier League outings.

Finally, West Ham and West Brom face off on Tuesday night, with both clubs aiming to capitalise on their impressive wins at the weekend.
