The penultimate week of Premier League fixtures is upon us, with the race for a top-four spot going down to the final couple of games.
Chelsea host Leicester in a repeat of the FA Cup final
Chelsea are in the driving seat to take fourth place, but they face third position Leicester City on Tuesday night.
It’s a repeat of the weekend’s FA Cup final, which ended with the Foxes winning 1-0 to claim their first piece of silverware since 2016.
If the Blues are victorious this week, though, they will leapfrog their cup final opponents and find themselves in third.
Elsewhere in the race for the European spots
Liverpool need Chelsea to slip up, currently finding themselves a point behind Thomas Tuchel’s side and sat in fifth place.
They travel to Burnley, who have nothing to play for and are there for the taking after being thrashed 4-0 by Leeds last weekend.
Tottenham and West Ham still have outside chances of qualifying for the Champions League but need to win both their remaining games and hope that the teams above them drop points.
The Hammers visit West Brom on Wednesday looking to correct their recent run of poor results, while Spurs host an out of form Aston Villa.
Any faint hopes of Everton qualifying for the Champions League were squashed when they lost to Sheffield United last weekend, but they can still make the top six.
The Toffees must win against Wolves this week if they want to secure European football next season.
Arsenal are a point worse off than Everton and need all the previously mentioned teams to drop points, as well as two wins of their own, if they want to qualify for the Europa League.
Mikel Arteta and Co face Crystal Palace, who will be on a high after twice coming from behind to beat Villa on the weekend.
Manchester City looking to extend their away record
Elsewhere, Premier League champions Manchester City play Brighton looking to keep the momentum heading into their first-ever Champions League final in two weeks’ time.
A win would make it 13 consecutive away victories in the league for Pep Guardiola’s side, continuing the record they set last weekend against Newcastle.
Their rivals, Manchester United, are just a win away from confirming a second-place finish.
This could come against the already relegated Fulham on Tuesday night, capping off a fairly successful season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Completing the midweek fixture list…
Leeds face Southampton as they look to confirm a top half finish in the first season back in the top flight.
Both sides are on good form, with Leeds beating Burnley 4-0 last time out and Saints securing back-to-back wins for the first time since December.
Finally, the already relegated Sheffield United have the chance to build on a rare win last time out against Everton when they play Newcastle.
The Magpies will be confident going into the match, though, after Steve Bruce was named manager of the month for April.
