Despite plenty of questions surrounding whether or not games should go ahead, the Premier League is set to continue over the coming weeks with the traditional Boxing Day fixtures set to be played.
Manchester City look to increase gap on Liverpool
Table-toppers Manchester City are in action against Leicester City, who recently suffered a demoralising defeat by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
City could move six points clear at the top, with the Reds’ match against Leeds United being postponed.
Chelsea sit third and have struggled to find any good form over the festive period but will look to put that right when they travel to Aston Villa.
The Blues failed to score against Wolves last time out but did advance to the Carabao Cup semi-finals after beating Brentford 2-0.
Fourth-placed Arsenal travel to Norwich City, looking to continue their good form, having won four of their last six league matches.
The Canaries have had a small resurgence under Dean Smith but still find themselves bottom of the league.
Covid-hit Manchester United are back in action
Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United play their first game in nearly two weeks when they face Newcastle.
Both sides are under new management, with the Magpies still struggling under Eddie Howe.
Tottenham have barely played over the last month but are back in action on Boxing Day when they welcome Crystal Palace.
Antonio Conte is yet to lose a league game in charge of the north London side, with there being a huge improvement since the Italian took over.
Elsewhere, West Ham could move closer to the Champions League spaces if they pick up a win against Southampton.
The Hammers have been superb all season, while the Saints are struggling again under Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Another side who have struggled this campaign are Burnley, who have won just once all season.
They face Everton, who have started to pick up points again after a 10-game winless run.
Finally, Brighton and Brentford go head-to-head with the chance to move into the top half of the table if either side picks up three points.
Premier League postponements once again
Wolves vs Watford and Liverpool vs Leeds have been postponed, further games may be called off.
