The second weekend of Premier League action begins on Saturday, as clubs look to build momentum in the opening games of the season.

League leaders Manchester United travel to Southampton

Table-toppers Manchester United visit a struggling Southampton side, looking to continue from their superb result last time out against Leeds.

Both Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba shone last weekend and will be looking to carve open a weak Saints defence on Sunday.

Current champions Manchester City didn’t fare as well, losing to Tottenham in the biggest match of the opening gameweek.

They can redeem themselves with a victory over newly-promoted Norwich City, who are expected to struggle again this campaign.

Liverpool were victorious against the Canaries in their opening game and can continue their good start against Burnley in the first match of this weekend.

London derby at the Emirates

Chelsea currently occupy second place in the table and have another London derby this weekend, facing Arsenal on Sunday.

The Gunners need to bounce back from their shock defeat by Brentford in the first game of the season and will have to put in a much better performance to challenge the Blues.

Their north London rivals Spurs, are under new management with Nuno Espirito Santo taking over from Ryan Mason, and he faces his former club Wolves this weekend.

Wolves have a new manager themselves, with former Benfica head coach Bruno Lage taking over in the summer.

Elsewhere in the Premier League…

Elsewhere, Leicester City travel to West Ham on Monday night with both teams off the back of impressive opening day wins.

The Foxes will look to build on their 1-0 victory over Wolves, while the Hammers twice came from behind to beat Newcastle.

Newcastle can put their poor start behind them when they play Aston Villa on Saturday.

Both sides lost their first matches, with Villa being blown away in a 3-2 defeat to Watford.

The Hornets now go head to head with Brighton, also playing their game on Saturday.

Finally, both Brentford and Everton could pick up consecutive wins when they face off against Crystal Palace and Leeds, who will be looking to ensure they don’t suffer back-to-back defeats.
