Poll: Michael Owen goals

With the news emerging this morning that Michael Owen is to retire at the end of the season, TIBS News thought that it was only right to run a poll on his most popular goal.

From the moment he made a name for himself with a stunning solo goal against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup, to the extraordinary hat-trick he scored against Germany, the special moments have piled up.

His career began at Liverpool where he scored 118 goals, with spells at Newcastle and Stoke in-between stints at the world’s two largest clubs, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Owen also played at international level for 10 years, becoming the fourth highest England goal scorer with 40 goals in 89 caps.
