Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract at Liverpool, putting an end to speculation surrounding his future at Anfield.

The 30-year-old has agreed a deal that is reportedly in excess of £350,000-a-week, making him the highest paid player in the history of the Merseyside club.

With just a year remaining on his previous deal, there were doubts about whether the Egyptian would extend his contract with the Reds.

Salah has had an incredible five years at Liverpool, scoring 156 goals in 254 games since joining from Roma in 2017.

He has won multiple honours with Liverpool so far, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020, as well as a domestic cup double in the 2021-22 campaign.

He has also won individual honours, such as the Premier League Golden Boot award three times (twice shared), the FWA Footballer of the Year and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year.

Mohamed Salah ‘excited to win trophies’ with Liverpool

Salah told Liverpool’s official website of his desire to continue winning trophies with the club.

He said: ‘I feel great and I am excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.

‘I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going upwards.

‘Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.

‘I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.’
