Europa league last-16 draw: Manchester United to face AC Milan, Arsenal return to Greece to face Olympiacos

The Europa League draw was made today with some tricky ties in store for the Home Nations’ teams.

Manchester United will be reunited with former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a heavyweight clash in the competition with the tie of the round.

The two sides will play against each other for the first time in the Europa league having last met in the Champions league in 09/10.

Arsenal return to Greece

Arsenal will face familiar surroundings as they travel back to the Karaiskakis Stadium to take on Olympiacos in the round of 16.

The Greek side knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League last season with revenge sure to be on the cards for the Gunners.

Spurs have a tricky Croatian tie

Fellow north London side Tottenham face Dinamo Zagreb, who have made it to the last-16 for back-to-back seasons after knocking out Russian side Krasnodar.

Tottenham have won the UFEA cup (former name before being renamed Europa League) in 1972 and 1984. Jose Mourinho last won the competition back in 2017 with Manchester United and Porto in 2003.

Rangers face Czech opposition

Rangers reward for beating Royal Antwerp is to face Slavia Prague who knocked out Leicester City.

Steven Gerrard will be hoping to win the Europa League as a manager. He won the competition as a Liverpool player in 2001 as part of their treble winning side.

The round of 16 ties will be played on the 11th & 18th March.
