Manchester United have reignited their interest in Max Aarons, but may have to wait until the end of the season to make a move for the Norwich City right back.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are keen on the 20-year-old and see him as a greater attacking alternative to current first-choice Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was interested in signing Aarons in the summer of 2019 but plumped for Wan-Bissaka instead.

The England Under-21 international is highly-rated but due to the coronavirus pandemic impacting all clubs’ finances, his value has dropped closer to £20million.

Norwich though are not under pressure to sell one of their prized assets in the January transfer window after recieving over £40million in the summer following the departures of Ben Godfrey to Everton and Jamal Lewis to Newcastle.

Aarons was wanted by Barcelona in the summer but Norwich rejected their proposal of a loan deal with a view to making it permanent.

This was to Aarons’ frustration who would be open to swap Carrow Road for a bigger club.

Tottenham are another team with a registered interest in him in the past – having seen a bid worth up to £30m rejected 18 months ago.

Aarons, who turns 21 on Monday, has featured in all 22 of the Canaries’ Championship games this season as they sit three points clear at the top of the standings.
