This week’s Premier League preview focuses on the seven Premier League matches being played this week as clubs look to catch up on fixtures they have either already missed or will miss later in the season.

The biggest game in the midweek sees Liverpool welcome Chelsea as the two clubs both look to fight their way into the top four.

A win for either side would mean they move into the Champions League spots as current fourth-placed team West Ham don’t play until the weekend.

Manchester City looking to extend their lead at the top

All the clubs making up the current top three also play, most notably with Manchester City taking on Wolves.

City are 12 points clear at the top of the league and could extend their lead to 15 for a day at least, as they are in action 24 hours before Leicester and Manchester United.

Manchester United looking to pile more misery on out of form Palace

United travel to Crystal Palace, looking to take advantage of the London clubs’ poor run of three wins in their last nine games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could solidify their spot in second place with a win, although this depends on Leicester’s score.

The Foxes will be without Harvey Barnes, Jonny Evans and James Maddison when they face Burnley on Wednesday, and must be at their best to earn all three points.

Elsewhere, Spurs go head to head with fellow London club Fulham, looking to build on their 4-0 thrashing of Burnley last weekend.

Gareth Bale was back to his best and will be crucial alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min if they want to move back towards the Champions League spots.

The rest of the Premier League preview

Another team looking to push towards the top four are Everton, who visit relegation strugglers West Brom.

Their opponents picked up a respectable victory against Brighton at the weekend though, and Carlo Ancelotti’s players will have a tough game on their hands.

Finally, Aston Villa have the chance to join the chasing pack behind the top four if they can beat bottom of the table Sheffield United.

Villa earned an impressive win and clean sheet against Leeds on Saturday, while the Blades look all but relegated following their loss to Liverpool.

The weekend’s Premier League preview will be released on Friday.
