FA Cup quarter-finals preview: Manchester City continue Quadruple quest at Everton, while Leicester City host Manchester United

There’s a break from a full list of Premier League action this weekend as the FA Cup quarter-finals take precedent, with just one EFL side left in the competition among seven top-flight teams.

Leicester City vs Manchester United

The biggest encounter of the weekend sees Manchester United travel to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. United currently occupy second spot in the league, while the Foxes are just a point below them in third.

To get to the quarter-finals, the Red Devils have had to beat Watford, Liverpool and West Ham, with Leicester overcoming Stoke, Brentford and Brighton.

Everton vs Manchester City

Manchester City are the only side left in all four major competitions this season and have the chance of progressing to yet another FA Cup semi-final when they travel to Everton.

Pep Guardiola’s side are comfortably top of the league, into the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the final of the Carabao Cup.

Their opponents have struggled for form lately, losing to Burnley and Fulham in the past few weeks, but impressively beat Tottenham 5-4 in the FA Cup fifth round.

Chelsea vs Sheffield United

Elsewhere, relegation battlers Sheffield United have the chance to salvage something from their dismal season when they visit Chelsea.

The Blades appear to have accepted their fate in the league, but all that stands between them and a trip to Wembley in the semi-finals is a win over Thomas Tuchel’s side. The only problem is, the Blues are yet to lose under the German, and have conceded just twice since he took charge.

Bournemouth vs Southampton

Finally, there is a south coast derby as the only remaining EFL club, Bournemouth, welcome local rivals Southampton.

The Cherries have impressed so far in the tournament, beating Premier League opposition in Burnley as well as dominating against Oldham and Crawley.

Unfortunately for them, their opponents have already knocked out the current holders Arsenal, as well as Wolves and League One club Shrewsbury.
