FA Cup quarter-final draw: Leicester host Manchester United in standout tie as Man City, Chelsea and Co found out their fate

Second in the Premier League will meet third in the FA Cup quarter-finals as Manchester United were drawn away to Leicester City.

The draw was made on Thursday night with some mouthwatering ties set to take place across the weekend of March 20-21.

The standout ties sees Leicester hosting 12-time winners Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes secured their place in the quarter-final after a last-minute goal from Kelechi Iheanacho against Brighton in the fifth round. Their forthcoming opponents United needed extra-time to beat West Ham with Scott McTominay scoring the only goal of the game in what his third strike in as many games.

In another tantalising clash, Everton will welcome current Premier League leaders Manchester City to Goodison Park.

On Wednesday night, Everton came out on top in a nine-goal thriller against Tottenham to progress to the next round – with the Toffees hoping to win their first piece of silverware since their FA Cup triumph over Manchester United in the 1994-95 final. City’s route was easier as they won 3-1 at Championship outfit Swansea City.

Sheffield United won their sixth game in all competitions this calendar year to setup a quarter-final showdown against Chelsea. The former beat 10-man Bristol City courtesy of a Billy Sharp penalty. Chelsea also won 1-0, with Tammy Abraham’s second-half goal being enough to beat Barnsley.

Elsewhere, a south coast derby is on the cards as Bournemouth will take on Southampton. Bournemouth knocked out Burnley on Tuesday night as they reached the last eight of the FA Cup for only the second time in their history. Meanwhile, Southampton ended a winless run of five games to setup the tie as they won 2-0 at Premier League rivals Wolves.
