As we get to the business end of the season results are at the forefront of every clubs’ mind and in this week’s European preview it’s a Super Sunday!
And, with this week it is a Super Sunday as three potential title defining fixtures take place around Europe.
RB Leipzig in title challenge
RB Leipzig are still looking for their first Bundesliga title ahead of Sundays tie against in form Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sitting just two points behind league leaders Bayern Munich, this looks to be Julian Nagelsmann’s Leipzig best chance to be crowned German champions.
Sundays game will prove a massive test for Die Roten Bullen as they host fourth place Frankfurt.
Unbeaten in their last three against Leipzig, Adolf Hutter’s side look to bolster their hopes of securing Champions League football after a stellar season.
With the firepower of Andre Silva and Luka Jovic, Leipzig will have to defend resiliently to keep a clean sheet.
But, under Nagelsmann they are a disciplined side and will believe on their current form they can beat any side in the league.
AC Milan need a win to keep pressure on city rivals
The Serie A looks a lot different this season with the two Milan clubs fight for the Scudetto.
Despite sitting six points below rivals Inter Milan, AC Milan are still in contention for the title.
After an impressive performance in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday night Milan face Napoli on Sunday.
They are unbeaten in their last five including a victory against Roma away from home.
Sitting in sixth Napoli have not had the season they would had hoped for. However, after winning three of their last four they are starting to find form.
There have been eight goals in the last two fixtures between these sides and with the amount of attacking talent on show this weekend’s fixture could prove to be a classic.
The final game in the European preview focus on Lille’s title challenge
Finally in this European preview the focus is on Monaco’ taking on table toppers Lille.
Lille sitting at the summit of Ligue 1 is something we aren’t used to in March!
But, Christophe Galtier’s side have shocked many French football fans and sit two points ahead of current Champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite getting knocked out of the Europa League by Ajax they have maintained a strong domestic form. They are unbeaten since the opening game of 2021.
Monaco are on a good run themselves which has seen them lose just once since mid-December including a 2-0 victory over PSG.
Sunday’s clash with a Monaco could make or break their title hopes. A victory could leave them top with just nine fixtures remaining. With PSG still to play, it could be a nail-biting end of the season for Les Dogues fans.
