A host of sides return to Premier League action this weekend after playing in the Carabao Cup during the week, as we approach the 10th round of fixtures for the 2021/22 season.

The most important match of the weekend sees Manchester United travel to Tottenham Hotspur, with the result potentially having huge implications for both managers.

Both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Nuno Espirito Santo are under huge pressure, having made poor starts to their respective seasons.

A loss for either team could be detrimental to their managers position, with questions looming over both their futures.

First-placed Chelsea take on Newcastle United this weekend, looking to maintain their one point lead at the top of the table.

The Blues have lost just once in the league this season, conceding only three times in the process, whereas their opponents are yet to win and have conceded 20 goals already.

In second place, Liverpool are yet to lose in any competition and boast the league’s top scorer and current best player Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian winger will look to continue his superb form when the Reds face fifth-placed Brighton on Saturday.
Manchester City currently sit third and will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing cup loss to West Ham during the week.

City take on Crystal Palace, with the chance to go top of the league should other results go their way.
The final top four spot is taken up by the Hammers, who will try to build on their huge cup win when they play Aston Villa.

David Moyes’ side have had a fantastic season so far, while their opponents have faced a slow start and find themselves in 13th.

Elsewhere, Leicester City host Arsenal in the early kick off, with both sides coming into the game off the back of cup wins during the week.

Both teams will be hoping to push up the table, potentially rising as high as fourth with a win on Saturday.
At the bottom of the league, Norwich could pick up their first win of the season when they face fellow strugglers Leeds United.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side only have one win themselves and are just three points above the relegation zone.
Burnley sit 18th, having made a poor start to their campaign, struggling in most of their games.

The Clarets welcome newly promoted Brentford, who are enjoying their first ever Premier League season, currently in 12th place.

The final newly promoted side is Watford, who host Southampton on Saturday.

The Hornets have had two managers already this season, recently appointing Claudio Ranieri who will be looking to bring them further up the league table.

Finally, Everton host Wolves on Monday night, with the chance to move into the top four if they win.

Rafa Benitez’s team have made a good start to their season, with the Spaniard getting the best out of the likes of Demari Gray and Andros Townsend.
