Arsenal withdraw from Florida Cup due to Covid-19

Arsenal have cancelled their pre-season tour of the US and withdrawn from the Florida Cup following a ‘small number’ of the travelling group tested positive for Coivd-19.

They were supposed to play in the Florida Cup alongside Serie A winners Inter Milan, fellow Premier League side Everton and Colombia’s Millonarios.

There has been no confirmation from the club as to who test positive so we are not aware if it were any players.

Fortunately none of the people who have tested positive are showing any symptoms.

The club apologised for disappointing the US based fans who were looking froward to seeing their team this summer but they felt this was the correct decision.

They are now looking to make new arrangements closer to home.

As for the Florida Cup is due to start on Sunday at Camping World Stadium in Orlando but it is unknown if there will be a replacement for Arsenal.
