The UEFA Champions League returns this week for the fourth round of group stage action, with every English team involved sitting top of their respective groups.
As we cross the half-way point of the group stages, each side looks well poised to advance to the knockout stages in February.
Chelsea go up against Rennes in the early Tuesday kick-off, going into the game top of Group E on goal difference.
Victory will see the Blues qualify regardless of results elsewhere in the group, as both they and second placed side Sevilla are already six points ahead of joint bottom sides Rennes and Krasnodar.
The Spanish side take on Krasnodar in the other fixture in Group E, with victory also guaranteeing their qualification.
Again, on Tuesday, Manchester United will look to bounce back against Istanbul Basaksehir in Group H following their loss to the Turkish side before the international break.
Marcus Rashford is the competitions joint top scorer with four goals, so he will be on hand to try and help United move towards the knockout stages.
Also, in Group H, PSG take on Leipzig in what is shaping up to be an interesting fixture.
The French side will be without Idrissa Gueye and Presnel Kimpembe after the pair both picked up red cards in their last European fixture.
Liverpool have a top scorer of their own, with Diogo Jota also on four goals in Europe so far this season.
They take on Atalanta back at Anfield on Wednesday evening, looking to keep up their 100% record and get maximum points from their first four games in Group D.
The other encounter in that group sees FC Midtjylland travel to Ajax, looking for their first win of the competition having lost all of their first three games.
Finally, the last English side in action are Manchester City who will also try to maintain their 100% European record with a win against Olympiacos in the early Wednesday kick-off.
Ferran Torres has scored in every match so far and will be a powerful part of City’s attack when they travel to the Greek champions.
The other Group C game is Porto against Marseille, with the French side yet to pick up any points yet in Europe.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, in Group G both Barcelona and Juventus look set to qualify for the round of 16.
The Spanish side top the group and visit Dynamo Kyiv looking to make it four wins out of four, whilst Juventus host Hungarian side Ferencvarosi.
‘The Old Lady’ have only lost to Barcelona in the Champions League this season, and the recent return of Cristiano Ronaldo will be key in their qualification for the next round.
Group F will also have their matches played on Tuesday, as Borussia Dortmund take on Club Brugge and Lazio host Zenit St Petersburg.
Erling Haaland is another one of the competitions joint top scorers and is fresh of the back of winning the European Golden Boy award so will be fired up ahead of Dortmund’s game.
Zenit also need a win in Italy if they are to stand any chance of progressing from the group or even finishing third and moving to the Europa League.
They are in bottom spot, picking up just one point so far.
The highlight of the final games on Wednesday will be a crunch tie between Real Madrid and Inter Milan, both of which are currently struggling in Group B.
Both European giants occupy the last two spots in the table, although anyone can still progress from what is a very tightly contested group.
Borussia Monchengladbach top the group and take on second placed Shakthar Donetsk in the other matchup and if they were to win that they would put themselves in a great position to make the knockout stages.
Lastly on Wednesday in Group A, current European champions Bayern Munich host RB Salzburg and Atletico welcome Lokomotiv Moscow.
Bayern so far are yet to drop points, whilst Atletico have only lost to the German side but did only manage to draw against Moscow the last time they played.
With plenty still to play for, it looks to be an exciting week for Europe’s elite sides.
