The first set of the Champions League last-16 second leg fixtures will be played this week, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Juventus all in action.
The only English team playing this week, Liverpool, are well positioned to advance to the quarter-finals following their 2-0 first leg win over RB Leipzig.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane netted in their encounter three weeks ago, and despite their terrible domestic form, it looks like the Reds should win again providing they don’t get complacent.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost their last six home matches in a row, but they won’t have to worry as much about home struggles this time, with Wednesday’s fixture being played at a neutral venue.
Barcelona face a mountain to climb
PSG welcome Barcelona on the same day, coming into the game with a 4-1 aggregate lead and a crucial four away goals after their emphatic triumph in the first leg.
Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick in the previous game and will be looking to carry that form into the second leg to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself and the Parisian’s can overcome the Spaniards to make it into the quarter-finals.
Juventus have a glimmer of hope against Porto
While it looks like Lionel Messi could crash out of the competition, a last gasp away goal in the first leg of Juventus’ tie with Porto will give Cristiano Ronaldo and Co hope going into the reverse fixture.
The Portuguese team won 2-1 last time out thanks to goals from Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega, but Federico Chiesa’s late strike could make the difference this time round.
Juventus need just one goal to see them through, but an away goal for Porto would throw the tie wide open.
Borussia Dortmund have a slender lead over Sevilla
Finally, Borussia Dortmund take a slender one goal lead into the second fixture of their round of 16 battle with Sevilla following their 3-2 win in the first leg.
The competition’s top scorer, Erling Haaland, already has eight goals in Europe and will be hoping to add to his tally on Tuesday night while also helping his side into their first quarter finals since 2017.
