Our latest Premier League review saw a very high scoring weekend as Liverpool maintained their unbeaten record at the expense of Manchester United, while Chelsea thrashed Norwich.

Liverpool run riot at Old Trafford

The Reds comfortably beat United 5-0 at Old Trafford, with the competition’s top scorer Mohamed Salah netting a hat-trick – becoming the first opposition played ever to do so at United’s home ground.

Naby Keita and Diogo Jota scored the other two goals, before second half substitute Paul Pogba was sent off for a nasty challenge on Keita.

Magnificent seven from Chelsea against Norwich

Despite not losing a single game this season, Liverpool still aren’t top of the league, with Chelsea currently one point clear after beating bottom-placed Norwich 7-0.

Mason Mount ended his dry spell in style, scoring a hat-trick for the Blues, which was added to by Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and a Max Aarons own goal.

The win saw Thomas Tuchel’s side hold on to first place, also ahead of Manchester City.

Third-placed City easily beat Brighton 4-1, with the Seagulls dropping out of the top four and in to fifth.

A brace for Phil Foden helped Pep Guardiola’s team to victory, coupled with strikes from Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez.

West Ham go fourth with London derby win over rivals Tottenham

West Ham took advantage of Brighton’s loss, leapfrogging them into fourth after they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.

The only goal of the game came from Michail Antonio, as Spurs slumped to yet another London derby loss.

Everton mauled at home by Watford

Everton also missed the chance to move into the top four, losing 5-2 to Watford in shocking fashion.

Former Toffees striker Josh King netted a hat-trick for the visitors, alongside goals from Juraj Kucka and Emmanuel Dennis.

Tom Davies and Richarlison did score for Everton, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to another disappointing defeat.

A 3-1 win over Aston Villa saw Arsenal go level on points with Everton, as well as Manchester United and Leicester City.

Goals from Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe sealed all three points for the Gunners, who bounced back from a poor display against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Elsewhere, Leicester overcame a challenging trip to Brentford, beating the newly promoted side 2-1.

Both Youri Tielemans and James Maddison were on target, while former Huddersfield defender Mathias Jorgensen netted for the Bees.

Managerless Newcastle United earn a point at Crystal Palace

Interim Newcastle manager Graeme Jones got off to a good start in charge of the Magpies, drawing 1-1 away at Crystal Palace.

Christian Benteke opened the scoring, before Callum Wilson equalised with a superb overhead kick to ensure the points were shared in London.

With Newcastle in 19th, the final relegation spot is taken up by Burnley, who could only draw 2-2 against Southampton.

Ivorian winger Maxwell Cornet scored twice on his return from injury for the Clarets, while promising youngsters Tino Livramento and Armando Broja netted for the Saints.

Finally, Leeds United claimed a late point against Wolves, with the teams drawing 1-1 at Elland Road.

Rodrigo’s late penalty cancelled out Hwang Hee-Chan’s opener, ensuring Marcelo Bielsa’s side remained three points clear of the relegation zone.
