Leicester hit Manchester United for four in win

United’s 29-game unbeaten away run ended on Saturday, as they lost 4-2 to Leicester City, with pressure now mounting on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Academy products Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford both netted for United, but goals from Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka saw the Foxes take all three points.

Chelsea remain top with west London derby victory

Chelsea were again victorious, maintaining their one-point lead at the top of the league after a 1-0 win over Brentford.

Ben Chilwell scored just before half-time to see the Blues into the lead, with goalkeeping heroics from Edouard Mendy then ensuring the leaders kept another clean sheet.

Liverpool produce five-star display at Watford

Second-placed Liverpool also won, thrashing Watford 5-0 in one of their most dominant showings of the season so far.

A hat-trick for Roberto Firmino was added to by Sadio Mane and another goal of the season contender from

Mohamed Salah, as Claudio Ranieri lost his first match in charge of the Hornets.

There was a routine win for Manchester City, who comfortably beat Burnley 2-0.

Both Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne were on target with goals for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Brighton managed to climb into the top four despite drawing 0-0 to bottom placed Norwich, leaving the Canaries still without a win for the season.

Wolves earn Midlands derby rights with comeback victory

Elsewhere, Wolves came from 2-0 down in the final 10 minutes to beat Midlands rivals Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Danny Ings and John McGinn netted for Villa, but late strikes from Romain Saiss, Conor Coady and Ruben Neves saw Wolves complete a dramatic comeback.

Newcastle’s new ownership reign ends in defeat

On Sunday, Spurs also came from behind to beat Newcastle 3-2, with Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son all netting for the north London club.

While the game signalled a new era for the Magpies, it will be remembered for the heroics of the players who got the match stopped so that someone in the crowd to receive urgent medical attention.

Also on Sunday, West Ham beat Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park thanks to an Angelo Ogbonna header.

Fellow London clubs Arsenal and Crystal Palace played out a thrilling encounter, with the match ending 2-2.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners ahead, before goals from Christian Benteke and Odsonne Edouard put the Eagles in front.

In the 95th minute, substitute Alexandre Lacazette scored the equaliser to ensure the points were shared at the Emirates.

Finally, Southampton earned their first win of the season when they beat Leeds United 1-0 as Armando Broja scored his first Premier League goal.
