Claudio Ranieri is back managing in the Premier League after being appointed as Watford’s new boss.

The 69-year-old, who had been out of work since leaving Serie A side Sampdoria in the summer, has signed a two-year deal with the Premier League outfit.

The Italian’s arrival was announced on Monday evening, a day after the Hornets had sacked Xisco Munoz.

Joining the former in Hertfordshire are his assistant coaches Paolo Benetti and Carlo Cornacchia, as well as fitness coach Carlo Spignoli.

Ranieri arrives at Vicarage Road with the club 14th – having taken seven points from their first seven games of the season.

Ranieri, who famously guided Leicester City to the Premier League title in 2015-16, will begin his reign at home against Liverpool on October 16.

The Watford job is his 21st in a 35-year managerial career and fourth in England having managed Chelsea, Leicester and Fulham previously.
