Kids’ corner – Liverpool and Manchester United hammered

Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United were both on the receiving end of heavy defeats on a very crazy Sunday!

Everton main their 100% record and are stay top whilst Burnley, Fulham and Sheffield United are yet to get a point.

Aston Villa 7-2 Liverpool

The Reds suffered a shock defeat with Villa putting seven past them. Ollie Watkins (four, 22 and 39 mins), John McGinn (35 mins), Ross Barkley (55 mins) and Jack Grealish (66 and 75 mins) scored for Aston Villa, while talisman Mohamed Salah (33 and 60 mins) scored for Liverpool. Watkins’ treble were his first Premier League goals for his new club since signing from Brentford.

Manchester United 1-6 Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs scored six past the Red Devils thanks to Tanguy Ndombele (four mins), Son Heung-min (seven minutes, 37 minutes), Harry Kane (30 and 79, pen, mins) and Serge Aurier (51 mins) and this was after Bruno Fernandes (two mins, pen) had opened the scoring for United. To make matters worse, Anthony Martial received a controversial red card after 28 minutes for the hosts.

Arsenal 2-1 Sheffield United

The Gunners bounced back from their league defeat at Liverpool with a 2-1 win. Bukayo Saka (61 mins) and Nicolas Pepe (64 mins) scored for Arsenal with David McGoldrick (84 mins) on the scoresheet for Sheffield United.

Everton 4-2 Brighton and Hove Albion

The Toffees scored four past the Seagulls – with star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the scoresheet again after 16 minutes. The other goals came from Yerry Mina (45+2 mins), James Rodriguez (59 and 70 mins) with Neal Maupay (41 mins) and Yves Bissouma (90+2 mins) netting for the visitors.

Newcastle United 3-1 Burnley

Newcastle put three past the Clarets thanks to Allan Saint-Maximin (14 mins) and a Callum Wilson double (65 and 77, pen, mins). Ashley Westwood (61 mins) had equalised for Burnley.

Chelsea 4-0 Crystal Palace

The Eagles were unable to make it two wins in two games when they came up against a confident Chelsea side. Ben Chilwell (50 mins), Kurt Zouma (66 mins) and two penalties from Jorginho (78 mins and 82 mins) gave the Blues a very comfortable 4-0 win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 Fulham

Wolves scraped past Fulham thanks to a Pedro Neto (56 mins) goal.

Leeds United 1-1 Manchester City

Both teams got one goal each and had to settle for a draw. Rodrigo (59 mins) scored for Leeds after Raheem Sterling (17 mins) had broken the deadlock for City.

Leicester City 0-3 West Ham United

The Foxes had a disaster! The Hammers hammered City thanks to goals from Michail Antonio (14 mins), Pablo Fornals (34 mins) and Jarrod Bowen (83 mins).

Southampton 2:0 West Bromwich Albion

The Saints got their second win of the season thanks to a 2-0 win against the Baggies. Moussa Djenepo (41 mins) opened the scoring while Oriol Romeu (69 mins) got his first goal in 50 games for the club.
