Stan Collymore, Nicolas Anelka and Craig Bellamy three of the EPL’s mercenary men

Non League

In modern football there’s very little loyalty, players seem to bounce from club-to-club with no passion for the badge all most of them care about is who’s going to give them a paycheck.

That’s not the case for all of them but some players don’t seem to care who they play for but who’s played for the most clubs in the premier league.

10. Stan Collymore (6)

The controversial striker played for ten clubs over the course of his career, six of which were in the Premier League. The English centre-forward scored a total of 84 goals for Leicester, Bradford, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Nottingham Forrest and Crystal Palace before retiring in 2001.

9. Les Ferdinand (6)

Ferdinand was the first Premier League player to score for six different clubs and is the eighth highest scorer in the league ever with 149 goals. The now assistant coach played for the likes of Spurs, QPR, Leicester, West Ham, Bolton and Newcastle.

8. Nicolas Anelka (6)

Anelka has won the Premier League with both Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as spending time at Manchester City, Liverpool, and Bolton. He moved to West Brom last year but left halfway through the season after a controversial celebration.

7. Peter Crouch (6)

The England international has played for Aston Villa, Liverpool, Southampton, Portsmouth and Tottenham and now plays for Stoke. The 6ft 7 striker has scored 127 Premier League goals with his most successful period coming in his season at Southampton where he scored a goal every two games.

6. Nigel Quashie (6)

The midfielder spent eight seasons in the Premier League at Portsmouth, Southampton, West Brom, West Ham, Nottingham Forrest and QPR. His record is unenviable as he was relegated with four of these teams and promoted with just one over the years.

5. Tal Ben Haim (7)

The Israeli defender has racked up a list of seven Premier League clubs and apart from Bolton hasn’t made a huge amount of appearances For any of them. In nearly five seasons at Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland, West Ham and QPR, Ben Haim played just 38 times.

4. Craig Bellamy (7)

The fiery Welshman has dedicated his career to seven teams in the top flight without winning any major honours. Bellamy has spent 13 years at Norwich, Coventry, Newcastle, Blackburn, Liverpool, West Ham, Manchester City and retired after playing for his home club Cardiff last season.

3. Wayne Routledge (7)

The tricky winger has played for current club Swansea for the past three seasons, but has previously represented Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Spurs, Portsmouth, Fulham and Aston Villa. Routledge, the winger has finally found form at Swansea.

2. Andy Cole (7)

Most players who have played for a large number of clubs don’t spend too long at each one, however, Cole is the exception. After starting out at Arsenal, the striker dedicated eight seasons to Manchester United, as well as three each at Blackburn and Newcastle. It was only towards the end of his career, from 2004, where he spent just one season at Fulham, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Sunderland.

1. Marcus Bent (8)

Bent has played for 14 different clubs throughout his career, making 574 appearances and scoring 113 goals. He’s spent ten years at eight Premier League clubs, with transfer fees accumulating to just £10 million. Perhaps his frequent transfers are down to his poor goalscoring record – in 239 Premier League appearances he scored just 34 goals.
