Lance Armstrong: Hero or Fraud?

The American overcame cancer to win the Tour de France title seven times, and in doing so became one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen.

Unfortunately, recent events mean Armstrong’s place in history will simply be erased from the record books. His demise has been a quick one, but the fall out already feels like it’s been going on forever.

With Armstrong set to admit doping when he appears on Oprah, we ask, is he a hero or a fraud?

It is a matter of opinion as to whether Armstrong remains an inspiration or goes down as one of the biggest fraud’s sport has ever seen. He has certainly left a legacy that Cycling would rather forget. Yet to so many his story will have provided inspiration.
