Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker has been arrested on a DUI charge in Penellas County, Florida.

The incident took place on Friday morning, and according to local police, he was travelling 82mph in a 45mph zone.

Officers said that Walker failed his sobriety test and confessed to drinking four beers at a local restaurant before driving.

The Blue Jays are currently in Florida for Spring Training. Their southern home stadium in Dunedin is approximately a 10-minute drive from where the incident occurred.

Toronto has made no official statement yet, nor have the MLB opened an investigation.

Walker was entering his 10th year as Blue Jays pitching coach, but it’s now likely his reign will end.
